Show Off 7 Opens

Show Off 7 Opens

Opened by his worship Mayor Logan Howlett to a crowd of about 200… a bit less than some of the other Show Off openings.  I blame the Royal Wedding, I know a few friends of mine wanted to stay home and watch that.  Personally I’d rather watch paint dry, although….. I was keen to see what her dress looked like.  (I still haven’t, lol)

At any rate it was a lovely night, the usual artists involved were there, plus about an extra 15 or so, in total 47 participated this year.  The Round room was packed this year with artworks.  My “Geisha” painting made it in there, so that was cool.

Details are:   Open from 29 April – 8 May with daily viewings from 10am to 3pm at Memorial Hall, Cnr Carrington & Rockingham Rds, Hamilton Hill

Here’s what  I have on show and for sale.  Hope you can drop by and check them all out. [portfolio_slideshow]

Koochie koochie Koo?

Koochie koochie Koo?

I wanted to start something new and different to my normal drawings and paintings today… a bit foreign to me producing something sickeningly cute, lol.. but I kind of like it just the same. 😉

Hope you all had a great Easter and didn’nt overdose too hard on all the Chocolate.. this year I was pretty good.. mind you, there are still eggs to be eaten yet!

Future Imperfect Exhibition

Future Imperfect Exhibition

What a great night. Lots of people at the event, with Mr Eric Ripper, leader of the opposition opening it all. I was introduced to him later on in the evening and he was very nice, we chatted about the art pieces and how his wife is infact a painter too. She likes to paint abstracts, which was cool to hear.

I had some wonderful feed back on the pieces and met some very enthused cool people too, which is always a bonus. Sadly though, there were no aliens or trekkies, but apparently that’ll be happening at the Masquarade Ball on Saturday night lol. I did see K9 the dog the next day though! Which was funny as lol.. he moved around and everything!

A big thanks to my buddies who came along to the opening and hung out, drank some champa’s and generally supported my efforts for the evening. You rock guysss! \m/ All in all I had a wonderful time… Lux-o-bot has already sold too. Woohoo!

You can still go on down and check that out, and the whole Science Fiction convention… there are lots of stalls and exhibits of sci-fi books, gadgets, jewellery and other cool things as well.

Opened all of the Easter weekend at the Hyatt, in Perth.

The Ape Commander

The Ape Commander

With all the work I’ve been doing on “Sci-Fi”  themes of late, I did this today.  I’ve got quite a few old (quite large sized) computer discs,  so have been trying to work out what to paint on them.  It seemed appropriate to paint one of the Planet of the apes guys on there (I love the Old skool movie!).  I will possibly do a whole set, from the movie.  Could be fun 🙂 – I’m thinking I’ll give this to Reboot – who I said I’d do a piece for this years –  “Pay it forward” project.

Meanwhile all my Future Imperfect pieces are framed and ready to go, along with my Show Off Exhibit pieces.  The last two of those are being framed next week, ready on weds.  Feels so good to be all done in time… now I can reeeelax.
