Tiger Blood, Duh, WINNING!

Tiger Blood, Duh, WINNING!

We’re I work, we have an Annual Corporate Bowling event… So my work collegues who were involved had to come up with a fun and silly Bowling Team name… at that point Charlie Sheen was in full flight of ridiculousness! Ya had to laugh at his sayings, and so the Team Name was chosen. We usually just get rip roaring drunk at these Corporate Team events.. not a one of us can bowl… it doesnt get better as the drinks flow either!

Great night, we lost miserably… in fact I think we secured the winning teams score, we played that bad!

I knocked up the Team shirts on the day, with a couple of Artline pens. On the backs were our Nick names. Mine was “Gasbomb” of course!

The Love is Here Project

The Love is Here Project

I happened across this exciting project by accident and via a contact of mine, “Maddabling” (Thanks Sam!)  and just had to submit something myself.logo

They’ve had 137 submissions, and the deal in submitting your works is simple.  It must be in black and white, it can be typography based or must contain the words ‘i love you’ somewhere within its composition, in landscape format (A5 landscape)

As stated in their specifications; – ” The Idea being that there are many ways to say I love you and through the diverse range of unique responses (20 will be shortlisted) we will compile a limited edition A5 booklet titled “Love is Here” which will be launched in Rancho Notorious gallery in July 2011 and then travel to Ambush Gallery in Sydney in August.

The booklet will have cut lines so that the individual pages can be torn-out and given to people as little loving gifts (as original artworks) in a pay it forward kinda way or, as a compilation.”

Here’s what I submitted… I hope I get one of them in!  They are choosing 20 peices, one from each state at least. Plus an additional 10 people exhibited in the group shows in Melb and Sydney, (but not in the book).   There has been no names submitted with each entry so as to  give everyone a chance,  no favourites, no pre-judgements etc … which is very cool I think.

The only people that can vote for them are the Artists who have submitted.  You’re allowed two votes, one for yourself and another for someone else.  So in actual fact really, one real vote I suppose.

There was some really fantastic entries submitted.. you can almost pick the ones that will get selected… but we won’t know until the 2nd June.

To take a look at all the entries, visit their Flickr page here at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/theloveishereproject/ or you can visit them on their facebook, click Like and find out first hand what’s going on.

*Unfortunately none of my submissions were chosen.  =( Poobar.  Still check it all out, a great selection of little artworks are involved. =)

Dr Sketchys Anti-Art School

Dr Sketchys Anti-Art School

Myself and 2 other friends went along to a  “Dr Sketchy Anti-Art School” class last night, which was held at The Bakery in Northbridge. It was hilarious fun, with a very beautiful model, Daniela O’Mara and a very funny german mad scientist kinda doctor hosting the evening.

Daniela is an IFBB Fitness Pro and personal trainer with the most amazing body you’ve ever seen…she kindly posed for the audience in an array of sexy and different poses. There was glittering bikini’s, Wonder Woman and rope garb to a stunning catwoman outfit with black thigh high laced up boots! It was a great night out and fun way to push the envelope with having to sketch in blocks of 2, 10 and 15 minutes.

At one point I HAD to model for the audience myself as some kind of iceskating dolphin loving queen… it was pretty embarrassing, but a bunch of laughs!

They did different blocks of timed poses… starting with 2minute, 10minute and finally 15 minute.. which you’d think would be enough to get everything down, but you seem to run out of time so quickly! Loved the entire evening and will be going back again on 7th June!

There were some really amazing pieces produced, some people are just so damn talented!!

Here are two of my better sketchy efforts from the evening – from the 15 min block poses.
